In the Chulymsky District of the Novosibirsk region, employees of JSC RES discovered illegal connections to power grids for cryptocurrency mining.
The perpetrators set up a mining operation on the grounds of a timber-processing facility, in the cab of an old truck. The vehicle could move and connect to transformer substations.
According to energy officials, the damage amounted to around 1 million rubles.
The company has reported the matter to the police. The organizer of the mining farm faces up to five years in prison.
Earlier in Dagestan, they seized 254 cryptocurrency mining devices, illegally connected to power grids.
