Minpromtorg and Minstroy propose an experimental legal regime for mining

The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Construction of Russia, together with federal authorities and business representatives, prepared proposals for an experimental legal regime for mining. This was reported by «Прайм», citing the head of Minpromtorg, Denis Manturov.

The ministry also proposed prioritising the use of Russian equipment for mining cryptocurrencies, when it is available on the market.

Earlier, the Ministry of Economic Development proposed permit mining in regions with a sustainable surplus of electricity generation and to introduce reasonable tariffs for its use by companies.

In the Ministry of Energy stated that it is more appropriate to allocate mining sites at the regional level rather than the federal level.
