MoonPay launches NFT purchases via card payments.

MoonPay, the crypto-payments infrastructure provider, announced the launch of a service enabling NFT purchases via payment cards without using cryptocurrency.

According to The Block, the NFT Checkout feature supports Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, SEPA, Faster Payments and bank transfers.

“At present, the NFT space is limited to holders of digital assets. NFT Checkout will expand the market to billions of people, making access easier,” said MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright.

Clients will be able to purchase NFTs issued on Ethereum, Flow, Solana and Polygon. The option applies to both primary and secondary sales. After purchase, the service will send the tokens to the client’s wallet.

Service fees will amount to 3.5% or $3.99 (depending on the token’s value).

Gas fees on the Ethereum network will be paid separately; for other networks, the service will bear these costs.

Earlier, Coinbase reached a deal with Mastercard to enable NFT purchases with cards on the cryptocurrency exchange’s upcoming marketplace.

MoonPay raised $555 million at a $3.4 billion valuation.

In December, the startup launched a concierge service to help celebrities and wealthy clients buy NFTs and digital currencies.
