The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has added MoonPay, an infrastructure provider, to the register of registered cryptocurrency companies. The information размещена on the regulator’s website.
The FCA’s decision took effect on 9 December and reflects the firm’s compliance with anti-money-laundering regulations.
Earlier, the regulator said that 73% of cryptocurrency firms’ applications were either withdrawn or rejected, according to CoinDesk.
“This is the most significant indicator we’ve had to date,” said Sarah Pritchard, FCA’s Director of Markets.
Earlier, the UK regulator granted approval to Kraken’s subsidiary.
In December 2021, The FCA issued Fidelity Digital Assets a license to operate with digital assets and registered the firm as an entity subject to anti-money-laundering rules.
