Morgan Stanley: Crypto venture-capital activity remains high

The number of venture deals in the crypto industry remains high, despite a deep market correction. This is reported in a Morgan Stanley report, obtained by CoinDesk.

The number of deals peaked in December last year. However, analysts do not rule out activity in the segment falling by 50% by year-end, given trends in other venture-capital categories.

\n\n

“Investments in tokens and equities are becoming more problematic during a bear market. A similar pattern was observed in 2018 and 2019,” the experts noted.

\n\n

According to researchers, at the beginning of 2020 most funds went into infrastructure projects and financial services. By the end of that year and into the middle of the previous year, DeFi platforms were in demand. Since the end of 2021 investors have favored NFT and gaming projects.

\n\n

Earlier JPMorgan expressed the view, that the crypto winter would be short-lived thanks to the influx of venture capital into the industry.
