Nabiullina Calls Cryptocurrencies the Most Dangerous Savings Strategy

The head of Russia’s central bank, Elvira Nabiullina, said that the most dangerous savings strategy is “speculative crypto assets.”

Their price is highly volatile, and losses can be ‘simply colossal,’ she said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.

“The Central Bank never gives investment advice, but in this particular case — this is certainly not where you should invest,” Nabiullina added.

The head of the central bank said that one of the best conservative saving strategies is deposits, and she also advised “to save in the currency in which you will spend”.

As noted, Nabiullina is known for a skeptical stance toward cryptocurrencies. Earlier she called them fiat money surrogates.
