The amount has since been withdrawn from the wallet.

In January, supporters of the opposition donated more than in any month since September 2018, when Navalny’s suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case ended.

\n

Since the Navalny team created two Bitcoin addresses in 2016 and 2017 years, they have received a total of 729.9 BTC. Of these, almost 7.5 BTC arrived after Navalny’s hospitalization in August 2020.

These same addresses have received 158.2 BCH over their entire existence.

On January 17, Alexei Navalny returned to Russia from Germany, where he spent almost five months receiving treatment and rehabilitation after being poisoned with a substance from the Novichok group. On arrival at Sheremetyevo airport, he was detained and placed in custody. On January 19, the Khimki City Court sent the politician to pre-trial detention for 30 days.

On January 23, protests in support of Navalny and against corruption took place in 122 cities in Russia and 78 cities abroad. Police detained more than 3,770 people, according to this data from OVD-Info at the time of writing.

Earlier ForkLog reported that since Navalny’s return to Russia, 1.16 BTC have been transferred to his campaign’s Bitcoin wallet. Head of the network of regional offices, Leonid Volkov, explained rising receipts as “a correlation with political events”.
