Neon EVM project launches on Solana mainnet

The Neon EVM team has launched its solution on the Solana mainnet. As a result, Ethereum developers can deploy dapps on this blockchain.

Neon EVM is an Ethereum Virtual Machine that runs as a smart contract on the Solana network.

\n\n\n\n

\n\”Developers of dapps bypass high Ethereum fees using rollups and sidechains. We offer an alternative — the Solana blockchain. Testing on Devnet showed that Neon EVM implements the low fees of this network in practice\”, — the project\’s CEO, Marina Guryeva, commented.

The average cost of sending ETH on the Ethereum blockchain is about $2; in L2 solutions — from $0.1 to $0.20. The average transaction fee on the Solana network is ~0.00001 SOL ($0.0002).

Along with Neon EVM, the Neon DAO was launched on the Solana mainnet as a a decentralized autonomous organization. Its participants can influence the project\’s development by voting with native NEON tokens.

Earlier, Anatoly Yakovenko called Ethereum a potential L2 solution for the Solana blockchain.
