In 2014, the online retailer began accepting Bitcoin. Newegg representatives described the current hype around digital assets as undeniable.
“The recent rise in the price of Dogecoin underscores the need to simplify shopping for customers using this popular cryptocurrency,” said Newegg’s senior brand manager Andrew Choi.
On April 16, the Dogecoin reached an all-time high above $0.30. The next day, the cryptocurrency lost 36% in value.
On Tuesday, April 20, Dogecoin was trading around $0.40. Over the 24 hours, the coin rose 5.08% and held fifth place in the ranking of the largest crypto assets by market capitalization at $51.3 billion (per CoinGecko).
Earlier, Cardano’s IOHK CEO Charles Hoskinson described Dogecoin as a bubble and predicted the coin’s collapse.
