In addition to Brady, Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen became an investor in FTX. She joined the company as an advisor on environmental and social initiatives. Her stake and bonus are undisclosed.
The footballer will promote the exchange; Bündchen will focus on the charitable aspects of its work. They also created accounts on the digital-asset management service Blockfolio, which in August 2020 FTX acquired for $150 million.
Earlier, the crypto derivatives exchange said it planned to donate a small percentage of transaction fees to organizations that offset carbon emissions.
As noted, Kansas City Chiefs player Shonu Kalkin will be the first in the NFL to be paid a salary of $920,000 in bitcoin. He has also signed an agreement with Blockfolio.
In June, FTX signed a five-year contract with Major League Baseball. Prior to that, the company acquired the naming rights to the NBA’s Miami Heat arena, which was renamed FTX Arena through 2040.
