Notcoin Team to Launch Lost Dogs Game on Telegram
Developers at Notcoin are set to launch a new clicker game on Telegram called Lost Dogs. Its internal tokens, WOOF, will be integrated with NOT and NFTs, reports The Block.
The initiative will be supported by teams from the TON blockchain social project Lost Dogs Co and the NFT platform Getgems.
In Lost Dogs, players form “squads” and embark on a dog-themed quest. They invite new participants and vote on their pets’ actions to find them a new home.
“Every decision is crucial, with ethical implications that shape the narrative and impact the journey,” the statement reads.
Characters are represented as NFTs, initially launched in March 2023 on Getgems. They evolve with the storyline, “gaining special abilities” and “becoming celebrities” in the game, the developers explained.
“Our goal is to demonstrate how NFTs can be created and used to convey narratives, thereby encouraging mass adoption through innovative storylines and gameplay. This is just the first of many games to be promoted with Notcoin, laying the foundation for a new era of interactive blockchain experiences,” said Getgems founder Vanya.
Users earn NOT and new internal tokens, WOOF. Each day they make choices that affect their dogs’ stories. The winning decision is the most popular, least popular, or average choice among all participants, depending on the parameters set at the start of the day.
If a user wins, they receive a share of NOT from the overall pool. Participants can also “mine” WOOF by winning rounds and completing various actions.
Initially, WOOF is an in-game currency similar to a points system. However, it may eventually become a token on the TON blockchain, as was done with NOT.
Unlike “endless” mining games, Lost Dogs will run for six weeks. The team promises more such collaborations in the future.
“Lost Dogs is not an ordinary game. It’s better described as a gamified experience—every day, users must make decisions that determine the story unfolding in this magical world of dogs,” the developers concluded.
In July, the Telegram team introduced new features, including a browser supporting Web3 sites on the TON platform and a mini-app store.
Earlier, the messenger’s creator, Pavel Durov, announced that the number of users had approached 1 billion, thanks to “taplinks.”
