The renowned economist and critic of Bitcoin, Nouriel Roubini, suggested that Bitcoin could be viewed as a store of value to some extent due to its strictly limited issuance. He shared his views in an interview Yahoo.Finance.

“Perhaps Bitcoin is partly a store of value. Unlike thousands of other shitcoins, it is not easily devalued. It has an algorithm that determines how much the supply grows over time. The emission by its competitors sometimes exceeds what the Fed allows,” he stressed.

Roubini argues that using the term \”cryptocurrency\” for Bitcoin is a misnomer.
\n
“A currency serves as a unit of account. In Bitcoin, nothing is priced. A currency should be a means of payment. With the first cryptocurrency you can make only five transactions per second, while Visa processes 25,000. A currency is a store of value that should be not very volatile,” he explained.

The economist, nicknamed \”Dr. Doom,\” is known for his regular criticisms of Bitcoin.
\n
In June this year, Roubini expressed confidence that the crypto market is rife with fraudulent schemes. In his view, their creators earn \”billions of dollars daily.\”

In March Nouriel Roubini proposed creating a cryptocurrency for toilet paper.
