In 2021, the number of installed cryptocurrency ATMs grew by 71.73%, according to data from Coin ATM Radar.
As of writing, the number of devices had reached 24,030, up from 13,993 on January 1, 2021. Since the start of the year, more than 10,000 new Bitcoin ATMs were installed worldwide.
New Bitcoin ATMs are now being installed at a rate of more than 52 units per day.
The overwhelming majority of operating devices are in the United States — 21,116 or 87.9% of the global total. In Canada there are 1,697 (7%) Bitcoin ATMs installed, more than in all of Europe.
Among manufacturers, Genesis Coin and General Bytes dominate — their market shares stand at 40.9% and 24%, respectively.
The top 10 operators control more than half of all operating Bitcoin ATMs (65.2%). Among the leaders — CoinFlip, Bitcoin Depot and CoinCloud — their shares exceed 10% of the total.
In July, the operator Bitcoin Depot announced a partnership with Circle K, under which in Circle K stores in the United States and Canada will install Bitcoin ATMs.
