Opera Crypto Browser adds MetaMask and other crypto wallets

Norwegian company Opera has added support for MetaMask and other leading cryptocurrency wallets to its Opera Crypto Browser on the eve of the The Merge in Ethereum.

Don’t be stuck with a Web2 browser, Opera Crypto Browser unveils the industry’s first Wallet Selector! 😉 Pick which wallet extension you want to interact with a given Dapp. @Metamask @TrustWallet & more wallets available for next level Web3 browsing. https://t.co/Zppgi3p7TS pic.twitter.com/J9phEQdeDa

Users will be able to select the required wallet directly from the address bar using the Wallet Selector feature.

The solution automates the process of switching between apps when exchanging tokens or conducting transactions with dapps.

“We built Wallet Selector based on user feedback. This saves users from many problems, as they no longer have to constantly go into settings or switch between competing wallet extensions”, explained Opera’s CTO Tomáš Stavarcz.

The feature became part of a browser update that developers called \”one of the most significant\” in the history of the product.

The update strengthened protection for users against hacking and phishing.

Opera Crypto Browser also allowed the use of readable wallet descriptors, including email addresses and ENS domains.

In the Crypto Corner information block, a new section — Hot Tweets — appeared. The section includes the latest popular tweets about cryptocurrencies.

In the crypto browser they integrated the DeFi application PancakeSwap on the BNB Chain, which simplified trading tokens directly from the wallet.

According to developers, the update Web3 one step closer to serving users familiar with Web2 on the eve of The Merge in Ethereum.
