Opera Unveils AI-Driven Browser Neon

Opera has introduced a new browser, Neon, with a focus on artificial intelligence. It can act as an AI agent—making purchases, filling out forms, and programming on behalf of the user.

A waiting list is open. Users will need to purchase a subscription to use Opera Neon after its release. The price remains unknown.

The browser features three buttons on its sidebar:

The AI processes powering the latter function are executed on a virtual machine in the cloud. This allows Neon to work on tasks even if the user goes offline or is occupied with other activities.

In April 2023, Opera introduced the One browser with AI features.

Back in April 2025, OpenAI expressed interest in acquiring Google Chrome.
