The payment processor Simplex will help the Opera browser integrate a gateway for buying digital assets.

According to the press release, Opera users will be able to instantly buy and sell cryptocurrency directly in the browser with “competitive fees.”
Another advantage is the introduction of a digital wallet that does not require leaving third‑party sites. Simplex will act as the intermediary. The update date is not yet known.
In December 2018, Opera unveiled a Web 3.0‑ready browser with an Ethereum wallet built into Android. Six months later, a version for iOS followed.
As reported in July 2020, 170,000 people used their cryptocurrency product monthly.
