Pantera Capital and Coinbase Invest in GameFi Project Summoners Arena

The developers of Summoners Arena raised $3 million in a seed round of financing. It was led by Pantera Capital.

Coinbase Ventures, Impossible Ventures, Spartan Group, as well as other investors and angel investors participated in the round.

The funding will go to expanding the team and to further development of the project, including improved graphics and the integration of new features into gameplay.

Summoners Arena is a role-playing blockchain game. According to the press release, the project goes beyond the Play-to-Earn model and offers users the concept of Play-Own-Earn.

Earlier in December 2021, Gala Games, a gaming platform, and venture firm C² Ventures announced the launch of a $100 million fund to invest in game developers and new blockchain-based projects.

Earlier, the gaming blockchain company Rainmaker Games raised $6.5 million from CoinFund, Alameda Research, Animoca Brands and other investors.

In December 2021, the Binance Smart Chain ecosystem development fund invested an undisclosed sum in the crypto gaming platform Crypto Gaming United.
