Pavel Durov Highlights Catizen Developers' Efforts in Cat Rescue

The mini-game Catizen for Telegram has generated $16 million through in-game purchases, donating 1% of this to the rescue of stray cats. This was announced by Pavel Durov, the founder of the messaging app.

According to him, the game has attracted over 26 million users. By utilizing TON-based smart contracts for in-game rewards, Catizen has introduced these users to blockchain technology.

Durov also mentioned that the project team has developed tools for other developers, enabling them to easily launch games on Telegram and TON.

The game Catizen won the App Battle competition as part of the third season of The Open League program. In the game, players breed cats and complete tasks to farm points.

Earlier, it was revealed that The Open Platform company and the venture arm of the Binance crypto exchange invested undisclosed amounts in Pluto Studio, the publisher of Catizen.
