
PayPal and Revolut halt operations in Russia
The payments company PayPal has suspended its operations in the Russian Federation. Reuters reports this.
According to the publication, since March 3 Russian users have been unable to register for the service.
According to the PayPal chief Dan Schulman, the move is linked to Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine. He added that since the invasion began the service has helped raise more than $150 million for charity.

According to The Block, a similar decision was taken by the British fintech startup Revolut. As of March 4, the service no longer supports transfers within Russia and Belarus and top-ups from cards issued by financial institutions in those countries.
