Phantom developers unveil mobile version of the cryptocurrency wallet

The Phantom cryptocurrency wallet operator will launch a mobile version of the app to broaden user access to its platform. The announcement was made as part of конференции Breakpoint by Solana.

Phantom is currently available as extensions for Chrome, Brave, Firefox and Edge. The service enables users to send, receive and exchange digital assets, including DeFi-tokens and NFT.

According to the developers, their non-custodial wallet has already reached the milestone of one million weekly active users. They described the growth as “exponential”.

“With the launch of the mobile app, users will be able to issue NFTs, participate in staking, and perform many other operations without being tethered to a computer. This matters greatly given how rapidly the Solana ecosystem is evolving,” said Phantom’s chief executive Brandon Millman.

In October, the Phantom team unveiled a new software version that includes features protecting users from common crypto-industry scams involving NFT and DeFi tokens. These capabilities will also be available in the mobile version of the service.

Earlier, as part of a large-scale phishing campaign in search engine results, hundreds of users of MetaMask and Phantom transferred more than $500,000 to scammers.

In July, Phantom Technologies raised $9 million in a Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz.
