Porn star Mia Khalifa, known for films and adult sites, likely purchased an unknown amount of the rapidly rising cryptocurrency Dogecoin (DOGE).

“Okay, I caved and bought the dog stocks, funny to tears,” wrote the Lebanese-born porn star.
The price over the 24 hours rose about tenfold. The coin reached a new all-time high of $0.078. At the time of writing DOGE, after a pullback, was trading around $0.055 (per CoinGecko).
The pump was sparked by members of the Reddit community r/SatoshiStreetBets. They view themselves as the cryptocurrency counterpart to r/WallStreetBets, which previously drove up GameStop shares (ticker GME) against the expectations of big players on Wall Street.
Earlier Khalifa admitted she had bought GME shares in small amounts.

The meme cryptocurrency, created by Jackson Palmer as a joke and symbolised by a Shiba Inu dog image, has repeatedly become the subject of memes or attention-grabbing posts on social media. Each time, the coin’s quotes moved in response.
In early July 2020, DOGE rose 130% in two days amid a viral TikTok video. In the same month, Elon Musk’s tweet about the prospects of using Dogecoin technology as a global financial system boosted the altcoin’s price by 17%.
In December, Tesla founder again mentioned the meme cryptocurrency and its price jumped.
