On January 30, the number of subscribers to the r/Bitcoin community on Reddit rose by 100,000 in a day.
According to analytics platform Metrics For Reddit, over the past week the subreddit grew by more than 200,000 members. As of writing, the number of subscribers to /rBitcoin had reached 2.2 million.

There were also increases in other cryptocurrency subreddits: the audience of r/Ethereum grew by 40,000, while r/Ethtrader added 400,000 members.
Users’ interest in the crypto market was driven by surge in GameStop stocks in the “war” of r/WallStreetBets against Wall Street and the Dogecoin pump.
Robinhood found itself at the epicentre of a financial scandal surrounding GameStop, Nokia, BlackBerry, and AMC.
