Raiffeisen Bank: By 2025, 10% of countries will have their own digital currencies

By 2025, 10% of countries will have their own digital currencies in circulation and exchanges for trading such assets. Analysts at the Raiffeisenbank Center for Technological Innovations reached this conclusion.

In the report, which Raiffeisenbank shared with ForkLog, analysts examined the main trends and offered forecasts for the future of fintech.

According to their findings, over the coming years governments will formulate a regulatory framework, and tokenized assets will become a means of investment and savings.

“We expect that by 2023 Russia will have formed a legislative framework for working with tokenized assets, including for international cooperation,” said Evgenia Ovchinnikova, head of the Raiffeisenbank Center for Technological Innovations.

Analysts also expect that by 2025 a few large ecosystems will remain in the Russian market, with their success determining the amount of capital invested in them and their ability to rapidly identify the effects of synergies among internal services.

In 2019, Raiffeisenbank developed a blockchain platform to automate settlements with suppliers and customers.
