Hackers frequently targeted decentralized applications on the Ethereum blockchain. In 2020, they were successfully hacked at least 47 times.
In 28 hacks, cryptocurrency exchanges lost more than $300 million.
The calculations are based on the rate as of January 12, 2021.
Analysts noted that in 2020 the number of hacks targeting the blockchain industry declined for the first time in five years. Experts expect the trend to continue this year.
Back in October, Atlas VPN calculated that since 2012 the blockchain industry has lost more than $13.6 billion in hacker attacks.
