The new U.S. office is expected to accommodate 300 employees. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to Revolut’s statement, paying in bitcoin will underscore the company’s growing belief in cryptocurrency as a means of settlement and will spare it from ‘costly international transaction fees’.
Since February, the fintech внедрила a permanent flexible working schedule and allowed most staff to choose when to work in the office or from home.
In April WeWork анонсировал поддержку платежей в биткоине, Ethereum, USD Coin (USDC) and Paxos (PAX) as part of a partnership with a processing service BitPay. The first participant was Coinbase.
In July, the online bank Revolut привлек $800 млн при оценке в $33 млрд. The funds were planned to be used to launch new services as well as to expand into the United States and India.
At present Revolut is the most valuable fintech startup in Britain and the second-largest company by market capitalization in Europe.
Earlier, Revolut’s chief executive Nikolay Storonsky said that Revolut aims to reach annual sales in the billions of dollars before a public listing.
