The company Distributed Lab has handed over the rights to host Ukraine’s leading blockchain-industry conference BlockchainUA to the founders of the CryptoAlcoholics community, which includes many prominent figures in the local industry.
Under the agreement, the rights passed to Andrey Veliky, head of the Apyswap Foundation, entrepreneur Dmitry Naumov, and a well-known community coordinator under the pseudonym Nike Long. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
«Our main task is to continue the work of the previous organizers, preserve the spirit of the conference, and maintain its focus on the community,» Veliky said in a ForkLog comment.
The new organizers plan to stage BlockchainUA twice a year, as before. Among the goals are attracting foreign speakers and partners, and presenting Ukrainian product and technical teams to external markets.
«Historically, Distributed Lab has been involved in many activities. We have sought to pour our soul into everything we do, and to be responsible for quality. We have brought BlockchainUA to the top of industry events in Eastern Europe. This project has become much more important and significant for the Ukrainian community than we forecasted. But it is time for us at Distributed Lab to start a new phase of development — we will focus on the technological component of our business, and hand the conference to people we deem worthy to develop the already formed community,» said Pavel Kravchenko, founder of Distributed Lab.
Distributed Lab has been running BlockchainUA since 2016. The company provides a wide range of services — from custom development to consulting, supports educational initiatives, runs hackathons and other profile events.
The tenth-anniversary BlockchainUA took place in Kyiv on 3 November 2021 — ForkLog served as the event’s principal media partner.
