Bitmain will deliver 3,500 Antminer S19j per month during the period from November 2021 to October 2022.
After deployment of the ordered equipment, Riot Blockchain’s hashrate will increase by 3.7 EH/s. At present, the company’s computational capacity is estimated at 4 EH/s.
“Riot continues to increase the company’s and the United States’ share in the Bitcoin network hashrate.”, — said Megan Brooks, Chief Operating Officer of Riot Blockchain.
Earlier, Riot Blockchain planned to raise this to to 3.8 EH/s by the end of 2021.
With the deployment of the ordered equipment, Riot’s device fleet will total 81,150 Antminer miners, 95% of which are the latest-generation S19 model.
Earlier in August 2020 Riot concluded a contract with Bitmain to purchase 8,000 Antminer S19 Pro for $17.7 million, and subsequently acquired 5,100 devices for $11.2 million.
In October, the company paid another 2,500 units of S19 Pro. By the end of 2020, ordered a new batch for $35 million.
