Robinhood to add option to withdraw crypto assets

Robinhood, a platform friendlier to digital assets, will enable withdrawals of cryptocurrencies to external wallets. COO Christine Brown told Decrypt in an interview.

The top executive declined to give a concrete timeline for the initiative, but added that the recent collapse in the market would not affect her. In the future, Robinhood Crypto plans to add stock trading.

This isn’t a simple toggle. It’s a very challenging question from an optimisation standpoint, Brown explained.

She also said that since January the development team has grown fivefold, and the platform has moved to round-the-clock operation.

In April, billionaire Mark Cuban called the inability to spend Robinhood-purchased tokens an obstacle to Dogecoin’s price growth.

In March, CEO Vlad Tenev announced the addition of a cryptocurrency wallet to the service.

Earlier the company reported that the mobile app’s audience for trading digital assets rose from 1.7 million to 9.5 million users in the first three months of 2021.
