Investors included: Lightspeed Venture Partners, Bain Capital Ventures, Citi Ventures and others. The round was led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2.

“Real estate is a huge asset class that has remained relatively untapped by technology. Because of this, it has often been fragmented, analogue, and inefficient. Roofstock is making the purchase and investment in rental properties frictionless and accessible,” said Serena Dayal, Chief Investment Officer at SoftBank Investment Advisers.

The funds will be used to focus on innovation, new products, mergers and acquisitions, and to grow headcount. The company is exploring blockchain-enabled asset tokenization.

In 2021, Roofstock, on behalf of institutional clients, purchased real estate worth $1.2 billion.

Earlier, the digital real estate company Everyrealm attracted $60 million from a16z and Coinbase Ventures.
