Among technologies whose development will be a priority for Russia in the coming years, First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov named blockchain, TASS reports.
“First and foremost, this is the support and development of promising groundwork for cross-cutting technologies in cooperation between the government and major companies,” he said.
In addition to blockchain, he listed artificial intelligence, quantum computing, the Internet of Things, 5G technologies, quantum communications and others.
Blockchain is one of the technologies that authorities are pursuing under the national program ‘Digital Economy’.
Last year the program posted one of the worst results in budget execution among all national projects.
Experts say the main causes of such results are repeated changes to the program’s documentation and budget reallocations.
