Cryptocurrencies and NFT are among the worst New Year gifts, according to Russians. As reported by Gazeta.ru citing a survey by the Grechka Media analytical center and A2 Research.
The study included 1,200 people from 17 regions of the Russian Federation.
Digital assets and NFT ranked third among gifts Russians would least like to receive — 17% of respondents think so.
In first place are subscriptions to AI services for work (27%). In second — subscriptions to entertainment resources (18%).
Speaking of preferred surprises, 41% of respondents said they would like “to receive technology” as a gift. 22% would welcome cash, and 15% — any gifts.
As reported by the Analytical Center NAFI in February 2022, awareness of Russians about digital assets since 2017 has risen from 16% to 67%.
Meanwhile, from January to September 2023 the number of cryptocurrency transactions in Russia has surpassed 185,000, which is three times higher than the figure for the same period last year (60,000), according to Rosfinmonitoring’s counts.
