Inspectors of the Saint Petersburg customs seized an ASIC miner, en route from China to a resident of Veliky Novgorod without import clearance.
The agency said that the customer did not provide the required documents when declaring the miner, and the goods were not marked with the single circulation mark.
An administrative offense case has been opened against the customer. The equipment worth about 50,000 rubles was returned to the sender in China.
Russians are required to declare mining devices imported into the country since March 2018.
In late December 2021, customs officers near Rostov uncovered 10 contraband Bitcoin miners.
