
Scammers dupe Russian woman out of 3 million rubles in a cryptocurrency investment scheme
A woman from Primorsky Krai fell victim to scammers while attempting to purchase cryptocurrencies.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the criminals contacted the victim after she filled out a questionnaire in one of the social networks. An unknown individual allegedly explained to the potential buyer the algorithm for depositing funds to obtain profit.
The woman transferred to the accounts named by the criminals a total of about 3 million rubles. Realising she had become a victim of fraud, she reported to the police.
Last week it was reported that a resident of Oktyabrsk lost more than 2 million rubles in an attempt to invest in cryptocurrencies.
