Among the main trends shaping the development strategy of the Russian financial market to 2030 are green technologies, digitisation and cryptocurrencies. This was stated by the head of the Russian Finance Ministry, Anton Siluanov.
He noted that Russia plans to launch its own digital currency. Presumably, this refers to the Bank of Russia’s proposal for issuing the digital ruble.
“We plan to launch our own digital currency. Costs will be reduced, and the ability to enter into smart contracts will be simplified. In this sphere we are in an absolute trend,” said Siluanov.
He also noted that the Finance Ministry is developing measures to shield retail investors from risks.
Earlier, the Bank of Russia said that a prototype platform for the digital ruble would be presented by the end of the current year, and the testing of the asset would begin in 2022.
