Many figures in the Russian show business are involved in cryptocurrencies, said musician and the Crocus Group’s first vice-president Emin Agalarov in an interview on RBC.
According to him, not all artists yet accept cryptocurrency as payment for performances, but many are involved in cryptocurrency because they understand how potentially lucrative it can be.
Agalarov himself accepts payments in Bitcoin and runs mining operations.
“There are clients for whom it is easier and faster to pay with Bitcoin today,” he said.
The artist said he began dealing in cryptocurrency when Bitcoin was around $6,000.
“Bitcoin is the most established cryptocurrency. Everyone who wants to get into cryptocurrencies thinks about Bitcoin first,” he said.
In addition to mining farms in Moscow, Agalarov and partners organized a remote mining system.
As noted, representatives of the music industry are increasingly interested in Bitcoin. Kiss band member Gene Simmons in February spoke about his investment in the first cryptocurrency “in a seven-figure sum”.
