Six illegal mining farms found in Nizhny Novgorod; damage estimated at 1.8 million rubles

Experts from the Rosseti Center and Privolzhye’s Nizhny Novgorodenergo division, in cooperation with law enforcement in Nizhny Novgorod, uncovered and shut down six mining farms that were illegally consuming electricity.

According to the company’s site, the equipment was found in one of the sheds. At the time of inspection, the owner of the premises had not been identified.

The volume of unaccounted electricity consumption totaled 218,000 kWh. The amount of damage was estimated at 1.8 million rubles.

As reported in May, Rosseti disclosed almost 5 million rubles in losses since the start of the year due to illegal miners.
