Skolkovo proposes unified ethics standards for AI

The head of the Skolkovo Foundation, Arkady Dvorkovich, said there is a need to establish unified ethics standards in the field of artificial intelligence. He said this at the International Forum on Science and Technology for Society in Kyoto, ТАСС reports.

In his view, the rules should not be “overly restrictive, so that people can have access to the best products and services.”

“In the short term, we should establish common standards in a number of areas. One of the best examples is the field of artificial intelligence, where we should have unified ethics standards,” Dvorkovich said.

The International Forum on Science and Technology for Society opened on 2 October. Over four days, participants from 150 countries will discuss a wide range of issues, including the use of AI and robotics, medicine and healthcare, education, and climate change.

In April, the Association of Russian Lawyers proposed to regulate the use of artificial intelligence in the country.

At the end of April, the European Commission presented a bill establishing the rules for the use of AI technologies within the EU.

In October, China presented ethical principles for regulating artificial intelligence.
