Regulation has made Bitcoin more attractive and safer for investments. This was stated by Anthony Scaramucci, head of the SkyBridge Capital investment company, in his column for CNN Business.
In his view, authorities have eliminated many risks associated with the first cryptocurrency.
“Stronger regulation, improved infrastructure and access to financial institutions that custody investors’ money have made investments in Bitcoin as safe as bonds or gold,” Scaramucci said.
SkyBridge Capital’s Chief Operating Officer Brett Messing added that the digital asset has become a viable option for long-term investors.
Currently, holding Bitcoin is less risky than it was a few years ago, Scaramucci and Messing said.
Earlier, SkyBridge Capital invested $25 million in bitcoin. By the end of December, the company’s investments in the first cryptocurrency had reached $182 million.
In January, the investment company launched a bitcoin fund with assets of $310 million.
Earlier, SkyBridge Capital said that large investors would push the price of digital gold above $500 000.
