Splinterlands NFT game logs one billion battles in six months

The tactical NFT-card game Splinterlands has surpassed one billion battles in the last six months, as of 25 January 2022, according to project representatives.

Players can collect sets of monster cards and additional attributes as NFTs that enable them to win battles and earn rewards in DEC tokens.

Players can buy and sell collectible digital assets or earn income by renting them out. Rare NFT cards can also be earned as rewards from daily quests and biweekly seasons.

In January, Splinterlands chaos Legion card sets sale drew more interest than any before. In a day, players bought 40% of the total supply.

Splinterlands counts more than 400 thousand active users and “thousands of new players joining every day”. Transactions reach four million per day.

“The success of Splinterlands demonstrates the innovative potential of Play-To-Earn games and the enormous appeal to gamers, which keeps them coming back for new opportunities,” the statement said.

The project also announced a partnership with Terablock, whose cross-chain solutions will allow players to move tokens between different networks.

In 2020, Splinterlandians migrated to the Hive blockchain from the Steem platform, where it had originally operated and was the largest decentralised application.

Hive emerged following a hard fork conducted by Steem validators in response to Justin Sun’s attempt to seize control of the network.
