Study finds developers will shift games to the Play-to-Earn model in 2022

In 2022, P2E-models in games will become more widespread as developers seek to diversify revenue streams. Newzoo analysts concluded.

In 2021, game studios discovered that P2E could become an additional business line alongside uploading gaming videos, streaming and esports, experts noted.

“Developers can use blockchain to create conditions for safer and more legitimate trading between players in a centralised environment”, according to the report.

Metaverse-related games could gain significant popularity. Young people continue to hang out in their proto-versions — Roblox, Fortnite and Minecraft.

Analysts forecast that the ‘craze’ around virtual real estate is only at the beginning of its journey. More investments will be directed toward this asset class as more companies see the potential of metaverses.

As reported, Warner Music Group (WMG) signed a partnership with the NFT project Splinterlands. Earlier the company agreed to collaborate with The Sandbox

According to DappRadar, in January the GameFi infrastructure and blockchain games segment invested $1 billion — a quarter of the total for 2021.
