Sturdy Finance offered a $100,000 bounty to the hacker

The lending DeFi protocol Sturdy Finance предложил в ончейн-сообщении a bounty of $100,000 to the attacker who compromised the platform for the return of the stolen funds.

If there is a positive response, the project team will not press charges against the hacker.

On June 12, Sturdy Finance fell victim to an attack that led to the loss of ~442 ETH (~$770,000). The attacker exploited a re-entrancy vulnerability on Balancer and manipulated the price oracle to alter the price of B-stETH-STABLE.

After the attack, the protocol developers immediately paused all services to prevent further potential losses.

Founder Sam Forman confirmed the information about the proposed bounty on Twitter.

We’ve sent the following message to the Sturdy hacker on-chain:

«As we have seen in recent incidents, hacks are not as easy to escape from as they used to be. That said, we are willing to offer you $100,000 as a bounty, and will not pursue you further if you send back the remaining funds,

— the statement said.

Earlier in April, the attacker who stole about $9 million from the SafeMoon DEX liquidity pool agreed to return 80% of the withdrawn funds in exchange for ceasing the pursuit.

In the same month, the hacker who hacked the DeFi protocol Sentiment returned 90% of the stolen assets.
