Swiss association formed to support and develop blockchain
In the Swiss canton of Ticino, the Blockchain Technologies Association has been created, with the aim of promoting the development of the sector. This is stated in a press release.
The initiative belongs to the University of Lugano and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland. Project partners include Bitcoin.com, Pangea Blockchain Fund, StrongBlock.io, the Swiss blockchain consortium and others.
The association says its task is to assist in promoting research and companies related to blockchain and decentralized applications.
“The ecosystem brings together two main engines of innovation: research institutes and private companies that turn scientific knowledge into economic wealth,” the statement said.
Earlier, the Swiss Senate supported a package of amendments that form the legal basis for regulating the cryptocurrency industry. The new norms are due to come into force in 2021.
As reported, instead of creating a separate legal framework, the government decided to amend existing laws.
