
Team Group releases SSD with 12-petabyte write endurance for Chia mining
Team Group announced the release of SSDs designed for mining the new Chia cryptocurrency. The devices carry a record warranty of 12 years.
The T-Create Expert solid-state drives are offered in two variants:
- with [simple_tooltip content=’суммарное число записываемых байтов’]TWB[/simple_tooltip] 12 petabytes (12,000 TB) and memory capacity of 2 TB;
- with TWB 6 petabytes and memory capacity of 1 TB.

The claimed read speed is up to 3,400 MB/s, write speed up to 3,000 MB/s. The IOPS value [simple_tooltip content=’количество операций ввода-вывода в секунду’]IOPS[/simple_tooltip] for random read and random write operations is up to 180,000 and 140,000 respectively.
The M.2 2280 form factor SSDs measure 22×80 mm and use PCIe 3.0 x4 interface.
Team Group notes that the devices are based on specially designed flash memory chips. The manufacturer has not provided further details.
The estimated price of the device is not yet known.
Trading of Chia (XCH) started on May 3. At its peak, the coin’s volume-weighted price reached $1,811. As of writing, it trades at around $730.
