Tether blocks 100 USDT addresses on the Ethereum blockchain
The number of Tether addresses added to the Ethereum blacklist with USDT has reached 100, according to data from the service Dune Analytics. 84 addresses have been blocked this year, most after July.

15 addresses may be linked to the KuCoin cryptocurrency exchange hack on September 28. Earlier ForkLog wrote that of the $280 million stolen funds, $22 million went to USDT.

At the start of July, 39 Ethereum addresses appeared on the blacklist. Dune Analytics first recorded a wallet holding stablecoins being blocked in November 2017; the address holds 909.5 USDT.
\n
The owners of the blacklisted addresses cannot send, receive or redeem USDT.
\n
According to Dune Analytics, the issuers of other stablecoins — PAX and USDC — had blocked one address each as of writing.
\n
In July, the Centre overseeing the USDC consortium, at the authorities’ request, for the first time added an Ethereum address with $100,000 in cryptocurrency to the blacklist.
\n
In September, FinCEN proposed tightening anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing rules. The document also addressed cryptocurrency companies and exchanges.
