Tether CEO: USDT as a Stepping Stone to a Bitcoin Standard

In the long term, the stablecoin USDT will become “useless,” and “the world will use only Bitcoin,” stated Tether’s CEO Paolo Ardoino on the Bitcoin Italia podcast.

Ardoino believes the global financial system will face a crisis leading to the collapse of national currencies and hyperinflation. In such a scenario, he explained, only the first cryptocurrency will survive.

The expert described USDT as a “transitional product” and noted that Tether’s mission is to help countries with unstable economies gradually adapt to a Bitcoin standard.

“It is a currency capable of surviving any disaster, even 2000 years from now,” Ardoino emphasized the resilience of digital gold.

In conclusion, the Tether CEO added that USDT will exist as long as there is a need for it.

Earlier this month, Ardoino refuted JPMorgan’s conclusions about non-compliance with US laws. The bank’s experts claimed that the company would have to sell Bitcoin to comply with the proposed stablecoin regulations in the country.

Previously, Ardoino described Tether as the “best friend” of the US government. He emphasized that the company manages to maintain better relations with America than its competitors.
