Tether freezes addresses linked to conflicts in Israel and Ukraine

In a press release, the company reiterated its commitment to close cooperation with law enforcement authorities around the world.

To date, Tether has frozen assets totaling $835 million in response to requests from 31 agencies across 19 jurisdictions.

The issuer of USDT stressed that joint measures with law enforcement demonstrate the industry’s ability to counter the use of digital assets for illicit purposes effectively.

As reported by The Wall Street Journal, Palestinian militants received at least $134 million in cryptocurrencies.

According to media reports, since December 2021 Israeli authorities have blocked 189 accounts on the Binance exchange, allegedly linked to the groups ИГИЛ и ХАМАС.
