Tether Freezes Three Suspicious Addresses Holding 870,000 USDT

Tether has frozen 870,000 USDT across three cryptocurrency wallets, according to experts from the MistTrack service.

According to MistTrack, the first address (TGi8…ZDfU) was used for transactions with the WhiteBIT and OKX exchanges.

Update:

WhiteBIT representatives deny any connection with the address TGi8…ZDfU mentioned by MistTrack analysts.

“We always welcome any news and events that lead to market cleansing, especially efforts in the field of AML. It is important to note that the mentioned addresses are in no way affiliated with WhiteBIT. Anyone with basic on-chain analysis skills can verify the absence of direct transaction exchanges between WhiteBIT and the mentioned addresses,” noted platform representatives.

The second address (0xa1…c53f) is flagged by the service as a source of funds linked to thefts, phishing, and schemes like “romantic bait.”

The third address (0xca…73b8) interacted with wallets conducting operations on the Gate.io exchange.

Tether regularly freezes funds associated with illegal activities. According to Dune Analytics, the company has blocked 2,192 addresses with USDT totaling $1.4 billion over time.
