
Tether launches USDT stablecoin on the NEAR network
The USDT issuer — Tether Operations Limited — has launched the stablecoin on the NEAR network.
The NEAR Protocol platform supports open-source smart contracts. It has high throughput and is designed for building decentralized applications.
In July, the total number of projects on the network превысило 700 единиц. According to the NEAR Foundation, the NEAR blockchain processes 300,000 to 400,000 transactions per day.
“We support initiatives that can enhance the stability of the DeFi ecosystem and help us accelerate the mass adoption of Web3,” said Marieke Flaman, CEO of NEAR Foundation.
The Tether stablecoin is also deployed on Algorand, Avalanche, the Simple Ledger Protocol, Ethereum, EOS, Kusama, Liquid Network, Polygon, Tezos, Tron, Solana and Statemine.
