The initiative is aimed at equipping students with the necessary knowledge and skills in the developing digital economy.

According to the press release, Tether will participate in BTU’s educational programs on blockchain, cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and other technologies that promote financial freedom.

“We are pleased to collaborate with BTU in fostering the next generation of blockchain experts. Tether is committed to supporting education, and the partnership with BTU is an excellent opportunity to attract students in the region,” said Tether’s Chief Technology Officer Paolo Ardoino.

Professor and Rector Nino Enukidze called the collaboration “an important step in developing the blockchain-education ecosystem in Georgia.” She said students would be able to learn practical skills from industry experts, enabling them to “contribute to the development of the digital economy”.

The month-long course consists of eight lectures by local and international blockchain experts. Most sessions will be conducted in Georgian.

In February, the Binance cryptocurrency exchange signed a memorandum of understanding with the Agency for Innovations and Technologies of Georgia to implement blockchain education initiatives.
