The Open Platform Invests in Catizen Game Developer

The Open Platform (TOP) announced strategic investments in Pluto, the studio behind the Telegram mini-game Catizen.

The investment amount remains undisclosed. TOP supports startups based on The Open Network (TON) blockchain. These include the Tonkeeper wallet, the decentralized exchange STON.fi, the NFT marketplace Getgems, and the Web3 gaming project Notcoin.

“The Catizen team has launched one of the most successful games in the Telegram mini-app ecosystem. Their innovative approach sets new standards for thousands of developers,” commented Andrey Rogozov, founder and CEO of The Open Platform.

Earlier, Open Builders founder Sasha Plotvinov stated that “tap games” will not achieve long-term success among users and do not contribute to revenue generation.

“Sasha claims there are several games with a sustainable model. He cited Catizen as an example, with its team asserting that more than half of its users are paying customers, generating millions in revenue,” according to an interview with The Block.

According to a press release, Pluto Studio plans to release new projects, expanding the Catizen ecosystem with a dedicated mini-game hub.

Pluto Studio is a GameFi platform within the TON ecosystem. Its flagship project Catizen won the App Battle competition in the third season of The Open League program.

In Catizen, players breed cats and complete tasks to farm points. Pluto Studio plans to convert these points into CATI tokens. According to the project’s website, the game boasts over 25 million users.

Last week, TOP developers announced work on an L2 protocol using Polygon technologies for the TON ecosystem.
